This two-week trip is especially designed for families; if you have kids you can be sure they will enjoy it too. Every day of this tour is an adventure for both young and old, but you are most welcome to relax instead if you prefer. You can entrust your children into the care of the BASIS team, and then just chill on the resort grounds, or go to one of the many retreats, attend a temple procession, buy Indian fabrics or enjoy an Ayurveda massage. Your children will be kept busy; fishing with our caregivers, trying to climb a coconut tree, getting elephant rides or playing with the village folk – you can be sure there will be no lack of entertainment. Through the tender care of the Moozhiyil family, India will quickly become a home away from home for you and your family.

The package tour includes hiking and boat trips, and a series of small and large excursions through which you get to explore the unique animal and plant life of the region and the cultural diversity of people here. Add an extra special beach vacation and this trip will be one your family will never forget.

FAMILY FRIENDLY TRAVEL

Mathew and Leelamony Moozhiyil have many years of experience handling young visitors from German-speaking countries. Thus, this trip is well suited even for families who have children as young as 3 years. The special nutrition for children, the mini zoo and wide green spaces that BASIS is famous for will win your children’s hearts.

Especially popular with our little guests are the following attractions:

  • Elephant Trekking (If you’re lucky, the village elephant Durga Prasad will visit you right at BASIS)
  • The Treehouse
  • A boat trip on the backwaters on one of our special wooden boats

Leelamony worked for many years as a nurse in Germany and she along with local institutions ensures that adequate health care is always available for children and adults.

INDIA IN THE HEART OF NATURE

Green as far as the eye can see! Your accommodations are aesthetically designed to make the best use of nature; wide open terraces and gardens surrounded by banana and papaya cultivations ensures that your rooms are naturally cool and pleasant throughout the day. Your stay can be even more nature infused with organised hiking trips into the green mountains, boat trips on the backwaters and much more! All you have to do is say the word.

Our trips also give you the opportunity to get to know the villagers better, taste various Indian delicacies, and try on Indian clothes. The meals are freshly prepared in BASIS, with child friendly fare for the kiddies replete with delicious Indian savouries (that are not too heavily spiced). Most of the food is harvested right from our own farms and cultivations; you can see them picked out right before your eyes!
